Bloomberg Philanthropies
Public art at the scale of a city.
The Public Art Challenge invests in temporary public art projects that confront civic questions, draw audiences across difference, and mark a moment in the life of a city. This is the body of work to date.

About the program
A program for cities, by artists.
Since 2014, the Bloomberg Philanthropies Public Art Challenge has invited mayors and artists across the United States to propose temporary public art projects that address civic issues, support local economies, and bring the public into conversation with one another.
This portal collects what each city built: the work, the artists, the press, and the lessons that travel from one city to the next.
