The project
Inviting Light
The City of Baltimore has been a strong and proactive partner in shaping and activating Inviting Light throughout the Station North arts district. Unlike other cities, Baltimore independently developed much of its own brand — with our input, led by the highly talented designer Kacie Moon and elevated by the vision of Derrick Adams, resulting in a project identity that feels deeply rooted in Baltimore's creative landscape.
The phased approach across a walkable arts district has worked particularly well. It has allowed the team to test different wayfinding concepts, experiment with event activations, and encourage visitors to experience multiple installations together along a concentrated route. Wayfinding has played a central role, with project signs, sidewalk clings, and light post banners connecting installations across Station North and reinforcing a cohesive presence.
